A workshop on solid waste management in Kazakhstan was held at the Institute of Parliamentarism. The event brought together experienced experts, business representatives and the public to discuss current challenges and prospects for solutions.
The meeting discussed the problems associated with the low collection of payments for waste disposal, which leads to financial difficulties and suboptimal use of resources. Special attention is paid to the need to introduce a system of separate waste collection aimed at improving the environmental situation and increasing the level of their processing.
Kanatbek Beisenbekovich Safinov, Director of the Institute of Parliamentarism stressed the importance of developing effective legislation on this issue as a strategic priority set by the deputies of the Senate to the Institute.
The issues of efficiency of recycling payments, concentrated mainly in the automotive industry, as well as the problems of a closed cycle in the economy, leading to significant losses of resources, were also considered.
The meeting participants expressed their readiness for active interaction and further discussion of the proposed initiatives and the preparation of a draft law.
