On June 30, 2021, representatives of the Institute of Parliamentarism took part in a meeting of the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan initiated bills on the activities of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan, which are currently undergoing the procedure of approval by state bodies.
The meeting discussed the activities of the Plan of Priority Measures in the Field of Human Rights, providing for the following areas of work: improving the mechanisms of interaction with the UN treaty bodies and special procedures of the UN Human Rights Council; ensuring the rights of victims of trafficking in persons; human rights of citizens with disabilities; the elimination of discrimination against women; the right to freedom of association; the right to freedom of expression; the human right to life and public order; increasing the efficiency of interaction with non-governmental organizations; human rights in criminal justice, etc.
