On February 4, 2022, at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Legislative Activities, the Package of Bills on Digital Assets, developed by deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament with the participation of specialists from the Institute of Parliamentarism, was considered.
The bills are aimed at regulating relations arising in the process of issuing, placing and circulation of digital assets, as well as the activities of subjects of the digital asset market.
One of the proposed novelties in the Tax Code is the introduction of quotas for specific licensed data centers (specialized data centers hosting equipment for digital mining), which will pay taxes based on the amount of electricity consumed.
