On November 25, 2021, a round table was held in the Mazhilis of the Parliament, during which topical issues in the field of digital asset circulation, the main directions for the development of national legislation were discussed, and the initiative bills on digital assets developed by deputies and amendments to the current legislation on digital assets were considered.
The event was held with the assistance of the Institute of Parliamentarism with the participation of interested central government bodies, NCE Atameken, representatives of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, second-tier banks, Astana International Financial Center, Kazakhtelecom JSC and non-governmental organizations.

The bills initiated by the deputies are aimed at implementing the instructions of the Head of State given in the Address to the people of Kazakhstan dated September 2, 2019 on the need to adapt legislation to new technological phenomena, such as big data, blockchain, digital assets, new digital financial instruments, etc.
Further discussion and revision of these bills is planned within the framework of the working group headed by the deputies of the Mazhilis and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acting as their initiators.
