Since the opening of the Institute of Parliamentarism, the following work has been carried out:
Twenty bills have been developed together with the deputies. To date, five of the bills have been adopted by the Majilis of the Parliament for work (one of which is the draft Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Improving Enforcement Proceedings”, which is aimed at resolving problematic tasks in the field of enforcement proceedings). Nine bills are under the conclusion of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan; six draft laws were sent to the relevant committees of the Chambers of Parliament for preliminary approval for further initiation. Eight draft laws are under development jointly with the deputies of the Houses of Parliament.
The Institute of Parliamentarism analyzed the current legislation in seven areas (on issues of state youth policy; science; compensation for harm caused to victims of crimes; information security (countering negative information content: bullying, child pornography, etc.); digital assets; post-boarding support; genetically modified Organisms (GMOs) According to the results of the analysis, relevant bills will be developed.
The Institute of Parliamentarism submitted substantiated information letters to the Majilis of the Parliament with comparative tables to four bills, including those on the protection of the rights of the child; improvement of budget legislation; on industrial policy; on transport issues.
In order to carry out scientific relations with domestic, foreign and international organizations and higher educational institutions, the Institute of Parliamentarism signed five Memorandums of Cooperation.
As part of the execution of information support for the activities of the Institute, 28 articles were published in the republican mass media; collections of scientific conferences, scientific journals, etc. 2 monographs have been published. Information about the activities is regularly placed on the page of the Institute in social networks and on the official website.
To date, the Institute of Parliamentarism is working in full, within the framework of fulfilling the tasks set to assist the deputy corps in exercising the right of legislative initiative.
