The secretary of the expert council of the Institute of Paraliamentarism under the UDP of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vladimir Volkov, became part of the project team “Quality of Laws” of the accelerator for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations as part of the joint work of the Public Project Office of the Senate, Maksutbek Narikbayev Unversity and the Akimat of the Akmola region.
The project team is focused on achieving Sustainable Development Goal 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions”. The work of the project team is supervised by Senator Murat Kadyrbek.
The accelerator, launched by Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbaev, is an effective interaction mechanism designed to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs. Seven project and research teams, together with senator-curators, will focus on achieving sustainable development goals such as “Good health and well-being”, “Quality education”, “Decent work and economic growth”, “Sustainable cities and human settlements” for 100 days " and "Peace, justice and effective institutions." The results of the work will be launched in the form of pilot projects in the Akmola region.
As Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbaev notes, expert teams will be able to identify areas with high potential for improving legislation and barriers to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals
Vladimir Volkov introduced a number of recommendations to the project team that were previously developed at the round table “Improving the legislative process” held on December 12, 2023.
In particular, they relate to changing the name and increasing the status of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Legal Acts”, developing a unified procedure for planning the consideration of bills by Parliament, etc.17edited 16:56
