On August 21, 2024, the Institute of Parliamentarism held a regular working meeting dedicated to discussing topical issues related to the draft Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Amendments and Additions to the Law «On Responsible Treatment of Animals».
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Institute, Doctor of Law Kanatbek Safinov, as well as scientists and representatives of animal rights organizations.
Currently, the draft Law is under consideration in the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the workshop, experts and representatives of animal protection organizations announced the results of the analyses of international experience in the responsible treatment of animals, expressed opinions and positions on certain provisions of the draft law (including taking into account the resolution adopted by the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation dated 07/18/2024 defining the grounds for killing animals without owners).
