On April 30, a roundtable discussion on the topic "Protection of Entrepreneurial Rights" was held at the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The discussion took place as part of the implementation of the law on amendments to the legislation concerning the decriminalization of certain economic offenses, combating money laundering, and the financing of terrorism.

The main focus of the participants was on the legal support of business, preventing unjustified criminal prosecution of entrepreneurs, and improving mechanisms for their legal protection.

The roundtable was attended by representatives of government agencies, the business community, and expert organizations. In an open format, they raised the most pressing issues faced by businesses and proposed solutions to address them.

Almagul Hasenova, the chief specialist of the Judicial System and Law Enforcement Center at the Institute of Parliamentarism, gave a report. She emphasized that reforms in the field of economic crimes should aim at protecting honest entrepreneurs from excessive pressure and risks of criminal prosecution:
— Entrepreneurs are key participants in the economy. The level of their protection from unjustified accusations is one of the indicators of a country's investment attractiveness, — she noted.

During the meeting, participants asked questions to representatives of authorized agencies, shared practical cases, and made specific suggestions for improving law enforcement practices.

As a result of the discussion, recommendations were developed aimed at improving legislation and enhancing the guarantees of legal protection for entrepreneurial activity.
