An expert meeting with deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the Institute of Parliamentarism under the UDP of the Republic of Kazakhstan to develop a legal position on effective policy of regulating the activities of cooperatives through the prism of the new draft law "On Cooperatives".

The meeting was held in a mixed format, with the participation of both in-person guests and independent experts online.

The event was attended by deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Maharramov Maharram Mammadovich, Nuralin Asylbek Zhamashuly, Seitzhan Kenzhegul Sotsialy, Smirnova Irina Vladimirovna, Sunkar Islam Yerkinovich.

Berik Aidarbekovich Bekzhanov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Parliamentarism, Almas Kanatov, Executive Director for Rulemaking, Yulia Sergeevna Kostyanaya, Head of the Center for Private Legislation, Aizhan Ermekovna Abdrasulova, Chief Specialist of the Center, and Muratbek Meiramovich Mukhataev, specialist of the center.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Maharram Maharram Mammadovich stressed the importance of developing the law in connection with the relevance and timeliness of the discussed norms for Kazakh legislation, and also expressed a desire for further fruitful cooperation.

Yulia Sergeevna Kostyanaya, Head of the Center for Private Legislation, presented the proposed draft Law, emphasizing the importance of its development as a tool for combining disparate norms and developing cooperative policy. Kostyanaya also touched upon international practice and legislation in the field of regulation of cooperatives (Kyrgyzstan, Germany and others).

The adoption of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Cooperatives" will be an important step in the development of a sustainable, fair and self-governing economic model adapted to modern challenges and needs of citizens.
