On June 26, a two-day training for deputies of maslikhats and their staff started in Aktobe. The training takes place within the framework of cooperation between the Senate of Parliament and local representative bodies and is aimed at improving skills at the district level.

The organizers were the Institute of Parliamentarism, the Foundation for the Development of Parliamentarism and the OSCE Program Office in Astana. 44 representatives of maslikhats from Alginsky, Bayganinsky, Kargalinsky, Martuksky, Shalkarsky, Kobdinsky, Khromtaussky, Yrgizsky, Oyylsky, Aitekebysky districts and other territories of the region took part.

Among the speakers are Deputy Director of the Institute of Parliamentarism Lyazzat Suleimenov, President of the Foundation for the Development of Parliamentarism Zauresh Battalova, Chairman of the West Kazakhstan Region Maslikhat Murat Mukayev and Acting head of the OSCE Program Office in Astana Yuri Fenopetov, as well as Meruer Kabylbayeva, an expert at the Institute of Parliamentarism.

The first day was devoted to issues of communication, ethics and legislative literacy. Special attention is paid to working with the public and mechanisms of interaction with Public Councils.

As Lyazzat Suleimenov noted, the current training cycle focuses on developing the potential of deputies at the district level. According to her, such work will become a stable element of the systematic training of local government representatives.

In 2024, similar programs were held in all regions of the country and reached about 2,000 participants. The new training series continues the large-scale practice and increases the focus on representatives of rural and district districts.
