





President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Constitution and Statehood: a dialogue of law and the future", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Addressing the participants, the Head of State recalled the key stages of the formation of the Basic Law of the country.:
"In 1993, the first Basic Law of sovereign Kazakhstan was approved, which defined our constitutional structure. However, it soon became clear that a new Constitution was needed to meet the changed realities. In this regard, a special council was created, which included well-known domestic lawyers who actively worked on this important case. Foreign experts were also invited. Millions of citizens participated in the discussion of the draft Basic Law, thousands of proposals were made.
Speaking about the Constitution, it is important to pay tribute to the hard work of the First President, Nursultan Nazarbayev. As Head of State, he played a crucial role in the process of adopting the Constitution," Tokayev said.
Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Elvira Azimova, Permanent Representative of the United Nations to Kazakhstan Sarangoo Radnaaragcha, Chairman of the Republican Board of Legal Consultants Serik Akylbai, Chairman of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial Reform of the Mazhilis of Parliament Snezhanna Imasheva, as well as member of the UN Human Rights Committee, Director of the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov also addressed the conference.
Natalia Vissarionovna, Director of the PAN Institute of Parliamentarism, also took part in the conference.
The presentation of state awards was also held as part of the event. By Presidential decree, a number of citizens were awarded state awards for their significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the country, strengthening law and order. In particular, Almas KANATOV, Executive Director of the Institute of Parliamentarism at the UDP of the Republic of Kazakhstan, received the state award "Yeren yenbegi ushin".
